Are you interested in learning how to sew???
If so, come learn the art of sewing from basic to advance. I have over 40 years of experience and I'd love to teach you how to sew.
It's ok if you have never sewn before or if you just want to take a refresher course because you haven't sewn in a long time or you want to perfect your sewing ability.
In the basic sewing class you will learn the mechanics of the sewing machine, i.e., threading the machine, winding the bobbin and how to adjust the tension. In the beginner class each student will learn how to layout, cut and sew a pair of pajama’s. You will go home with a beautiful pair of pajamas that you have constructed yourself.
In the Intermediate Class you will learn how to read the pattern envelope, apply a waistband, put in an invisible zipper, learn grain lines, make buttonholes and insert a sleeve into an armhole. You may choose the pattern of your choice (the pattern should be a selection from a 2 hour or easy pattern).
In the Advance Class you will apply what you have learned in the intermediate class and learn how to perfect your sewing by learning how to alter the pattern to fit your size, line a garment, apply different types of zipper applications, make bound buttonholes, pockets, work with plaids, nap fabric and one way designs. I will teach you how to operate commercial machines, i.e., Blind Stitch and Serge machine.
I offer private lessons in my home located in South Holland, IL for $25.00 per hour, semi-private lessons for $20.00 per hour and group lessons for a party of three or more up to 8 people for $15.00 per hour.
The classes run for a minimum of 4 weeks and must be paid in full prior to the sessions start. The lessons are for two hours. You can bring your own machine or you can use the machines I provide.
Class Schedule:
Sunday - Morning 9:00am – 11:00am & Evening Class 4:00 - 6:00pm
Saturday - Morning 9:00am - 11:00am & Evening Class 4:00 - 6:00pm
If you are unable to attend a class you can make it up later at an agreed upon time.

Announcing Up Coming Event
I'm hosting a sip and sew miscellaneous sewing class on Saturday, December 7th from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Bring your sewing machine and the project you want to work on. There will be plenty of margaritas, dip and chips for you to enjoy while you have fun sewing! The cost is only $25 for a night of sheer enjoyment.
